Dubai Unveils Vision for 93-Kilometre Climate-Controlled Walkable City

Dubai is advancing plans for one of the world's most ambitious urban mobility projects, with a proposed 93-kilometre climate-controlled pedestrian network designed to transform how people move across the emirate.

Known as The Loop, the vision would connect major residential, commercial and lifestyle precincts through an enclosed, year-round walkway, encouraging walking and cycling as practical alternatives to short car journeys. The project aligns with Dubai's long-term goal of becoming a more connected, sustainable and liveable city, while supporting its broader 2040 urban development strategy.

Beyond improving mobility, the proposed network is expected to integrate green spaces, wellness facilities and smart infrastructure, reinforcing Dubai's continued investment in future-focused urban planning.
