Dubai Set to Launch 0% Interest Rent Now, Pay Later Scheme

Dubai Set to Launch 0% Interest Rent Now, Pay Later Scheme

Dubai is set to introduce a new “Rent Now, Pay Later” scheme in September, allowing tenants to spread annual rental payments across up to 12 monthly instalments without interest.

The initiative is being developed by the Dubai Land Department (DLD) in partnership with a local bank, with the aim of easing the upfront financial burden faced by tenants in the emirate’s rental market.

Under the scheme, tenants will be able to move away from the traditional model of paying annual rent through a limited number of large instalments and instead align payments more closely with their monthly income.

The move comes as Dubai’s rental market continues to see strong demand, with upfront rental costs remaining a significant financial commitment for residents. Existing rent-now-pay-later platforms have already gained traction in the market, offering tenants the ability to spread payments over 12 months while landlords receive their rent upfront.

The new DLD-backed initiative could further expand access to monthly rental payments and marks another step towards digitising Dubai’s property market.

With the scheme expected to launch in September 2026, Dubai tenants will soon have another option for managing one of their largest annual household expenses.
