Dubai Landlords Gain New Protection as Flexible Rent Payments Expand
UAE proptech platform Keyper has launched Rental Shield, offering eligible property owners protection against missed rent if a tenant stops paying.
The service arrives as Dubai’s Flexi Rent initiative expands access to monthly, quarterly and semi-annual rental payments. While greater flexibility can make properties more accessible to tenants, it may also create concerns for landlords around income certainty.
Rental Shield is designed to address that risk by combining payment protection with tenant screening. Existing tenants may also qualify if they meet Keyper’s eligibility requirements, including a sufficient history of reliable payments.
Approved owners can access their full annual rental income within 48 hours through Keyper’s Upfront Rent service, while its payment management system handles rent collection, expenses, distribution and performance reporting.
For landlords and investors, the development could make flexible payment arrangements more commercially practical by reducing some of the financial and operational risks associated with managing a rental property.
The service will initially be available to owners already using Keyper’s rental payment management services before expanding more widely.
