Aldar’s Abu Dhabi Launches Exceed AED 5 Billion as Expat and Overseas Buyers Account for 69% of Sales

Aldar’s Abu Dhabi Launches Exceed AED 5 Billion as Expat and Overseas Buyers Account for 69% of Sales

Aldar has recorded more than AED 5 billion in sales across Talay and Yas Riva Reserve, highlighting demand for new waterfront communities on Saadiyat and Yas Islands.

Expatriate residents and overseas buyers accounted for 69% of sales, while Emiratis represented 31% of the buyer base. Leading buyer nationalities included the UAE, UK, Russia, Jordan and India.

Talay is the first residential community within Marsa Al Saadiyat, the AED 100 billion waterfront destination completing the final phase of Saadiyat Island’s masterplan. Yas Riva Reserve is a gated waterfront community in the northeast of Yas Island.

The buyer profile adds another dimension to the sales figures. First-time Aldar customers accounted for 54% of purchasers, and 55% were under 45. These launches are attracting a substantial share of customers who are new to the developer.

Taken together, the results suggest Abu Dhabi’s waterfront developments are appealing to both an established domestic audience and a wider international buyer base. The longer-term test will be how effectively these communities translate that initial demand into places people choose to live, with the services, amenities and infrastructure to support them.
